Hi, I’m Emily Burgess, LCSW, PMH-C, CMNCS

Hi, I’m Emily, founder of Conduit Counseling Collective. I created this practice from a deep belief that healing happens through connection — connection to ourselves, to others, and to the parts of us that have worked hard to protect us along the way.

I’ve been working in the mental health field since 2013 across a range of clinical settings before transitioning into private practice. Over time, my work naturally deepened into the connection between mind and body, a focus that became especially meaningful during several years of specializing in perinatal mental health. Through both clinical experience and ongoing learning, I’ve come to understand mental health as inherently whole-person — where emotional wellbeing is closely intertwined with physical health, regulation, and care for the body.

My approach to therapy is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I also love a good laugh, so don’t be surprised to laugh and cry simultaneously at times. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood, without pressure to perform, “have it all together,” or fit into a certain mold. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and practical: a place where insight leads to real, meaningful change in everyday life.

I especially enjoy helping people navigate anxiety, grief, overwhelm, feeling stuck, life transitions, relationships, and the feeling of being disconnected from themselves. Much of my work is informed by evidenced-based, somatic and compassion-based approaches, helping clients better understand the different internal experiences they carry while learning how to lead from a more grounded, connected place.

At the core of my work is the belief that people are not broken, we just haven’t unlocked internal resources we already have. Often, the patterns that feel frustrating today once served an important purpose. With curiosity, compassion, and support, healing becomes less about “fixing yourself” and more about building trust within yourself.

Whether you’re seeking deeper self-understanding, healthier relationships, or simply a place to exhale and feel human again, I’m honored to walk alongside you in the process and be a safe place to land.

My Approach

This work is rooted in the belief that healing happens when people feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves. At Conduit Counseling Collective, I integrate parts work, nervous system awareness, movement, and nutrition to support whole-person healing — recognizing that our emotional, physical, and relational experiences are deeply connected.

Rather than viewing people as broken or focusing only on symptoms management, I help clients understand the protective patterns, emotions, and automatic responses that have developed along the way, while strengthening access to the grounded, compassionate core that already exists within them. I believe we all carry internal resources capable of growth, healing, and meaningful change when given the right environment and support. Through 1:1 therapy, couples sessions, or self-paced psychoeducational courses, my goal is to create a conduit for deeper self-understanding, connection, and sustainable transformation in everyday life in a format that makes sense for my clients.
